A Complete Boxing Bag Kit
Posted in Best Sports Resources, House Of Self Improvement on September 1st, 2010Boxing is a martial art type of sport involving two people of the same weight fighting with their fists. The sport is played by males or females. The game is closely monitored by a referee who will settle on the person coming out as the victor at the end of the game. The game consists of different rounds usually three-minute segments and there are three approaches to win. If one player is knocked out and is unable to rise before the referee counts to ten seconds, the contender prevailing is the winner of the match. If one contestant is deemed too injured to keep on fighting then the next contender is deemed the winner. Sometimes the contenders will go round after round without stopping. In this case, the referee will settle on a winner or the judges’ points will determine the victor.
Boxing is an action-packed, anaerobic sport and hence the value of training and ample preparation cannot be negelected. The throwing of punches rapidly round after round while facing a challenger with the same mission in mind is not an easy task. Consequently, a boxer must be prepared to fight with intensity and his body must be prepared to continue the same powerful punches from beginning to the end of a match. To train successfully, it is important to have the relevant tools necessary. One tool that significantly helps to prepare a boxer for competition is a boxing bag.
A boxing bag, also known as a punching bag is a special workout tool that boxers use as part of their training in throwing punches and sharpening various punching techniques. It is a very heavy bag, hence it is also called a heavy bag. There are four basic types of boxing bags:
1.The first bag is the basic type to start out with as it is created for basic training. The perfect starter bag should be half your body mass. For example your weight is 140 pounds, your bag should be 70 pounds.
2.The next bag is one that weighs twenty pounds less than your starter bag. This bag is used to improve your speed by throwing quick jabs, not hard punches else it will fly everywhere. This is also suitable for kids who like the joy of boxing and may be training with an adult. Using the example above, this bag would be 50 pounds.
3.The next bag that is needed for training is one that is heavier than the light bag, about 20 pounds more. The object of this bag is to build up intense punches. This would weigh 90 pounds based on the example used.
4.The next bag is aimed at getting the boxer developed. This bag is not bullet-shaped like the others but has a wide, extended upper half bulging out providing an ideal contact position. It is heavier than your starter bag and is ideal for building strong blows. It may be a little harder to train with if you are not accustomed to one.
