Reciprocal Linking - A Partnership

Posted in The Linking Way on August 29th, 2008

Link popularity is becoming the latest “in-thing” to get your website ranking well with the Search Engines.

Getting links to your website is critical but there are some guidelines that should be followed for successful Reciprocal Linking. In addition, a lot of website owners are becoming particularly choosey as to who they link with, and they cannot be blamed for this. Linking to good quality websites is paramount.

So where does that leave the website owner with a low to average Google Page Ranking?

We will presume for just a moment that your website has an overall Google Page Ranking of between 0 and 3 (out of a possible 10). How can you improve this so that you have a better chance of getting good quality reciprocal links?

Link exchange is not the only thing that helps increase your Website Page Ranking. It is a combination of a number of factors, such as :

* Great relevant content. * Designed to keep the visitor interested and informed. * Meta Tags should be well optimized. * Keyword density * Frequently updating the content.

There is a lot of free information regarding page ranking - just put “google page ranking” in the Google search bar for more details on this topic.

Back to Linking!

Developing a good Links Page on your website takes a lot of effort to start off, especially if you are doing it manually and not using a Link Program.

You need to plan and organize your time so that you can evaluate possible link partners thoroughly. You should check their website to ensure it is of high quality, providing relative information and products to your website theme.

There are a few schools of thought regarding linking to “competitor” websites, some feel it is not a good thing.

However, personally I don’t believe it to be detrimental as long as your website offers top quality information and products. After all a little bit of competition helps keep us on our toes. Whether shopping online or offline, people usually browse for bargains or the best quality before making a purchase.

This of course, works both ways as your site is also listed on competitor sites. So having a good balance of both competitor sites and related sites is the best answer.

Planning your links page is important in that you need to determine how you want it to look, what categories you will have and the size and positioning of the links. Will you just have text links or will you accept banner links?

It is good practice to have the Link menu button placed in a prominent position on your home page. This is also a point to remember when evaluating possible link partners - on some website you can spend ages searching for the Link button and the Link pages.

There is also the practice of placing extremely good beneficial links on other pages of your website. For example:

If your site is promoting health products you may very well want to place a banner ad on your homepage for say a health magazine.

In most cases you will be required to place a link on your website first prior to requesting a link exchange. Once you have placed the link, send an email advising that you have visited their site and believe a link exchange would be beneficial to both parties. Mention something about the site that impressed you, this way they will know you have actually visited their website. Endeavor to get a name to address the email to if at all possible.

Of course, many sites today have everything set up with forms that enable you to just fill in your website details including the reciprocal link address. This does make the job much easier, but it is good business practice to send a confirmation email advising that their link is listed on your site and that you look forward to a reciprocal linking arrangement.

This last step can be beneficial at a later date in that you may want to approach them in the future with a joint venture proposition for example. Linking is more than just swapping site information, it can be the first step to a profitable business partnership.

A couple of important points to remember :

* Check all the links regularly to ensure they are working. * Check that your link is still listed on the partner site.

As your Link Pages grow, it will probably become necessary to use a Link Managing Program or Service, there are a number of very good ones available, some with a free trial period.

Happy Linking!

Taking on a Franchise or Starting Your Own Business

Posted in Great Management Tips, Money Making, Tips + Tricks on August 28th, 2008

If you have decided to take the plunge into running your own business your will be faced with several options. You can take on a franchise or start your own business from the ground up. Different approaches suit different people.

The world is rife with franchise opportunities. Many companies you use are probably franchises, from restaurants to cleaning services. Franchises are typically founded on a tried and tested business model. When you buy into a franchise, many aspects of the business including marketing are taken care of off. There are many different franchises available. Some will give you the business name, equipment and everything you need for start up, others only give you the basics and you still have to buy or lease a location, purchase equipment and the inventory you will need.

The two main downsides of buying a franchise however are that they are typically inflexible in terms to making it your own, and of course the initial outlay. Visit the Key Mergers website for more information or if you would like to f you would like to buy a business or for details of available franchises.

Starting your own business from scratch however means that you can grow the business organically over time, you can limit your initial outlay and you can be as creative with the direction of your business as you like. However, your model may not be tried and tested and you will likely have to develop your own support network from the ground up along with your business.

the reality is, the factors determining whether to buy a franchise or go it alone are multi-dimensional Its a choice only you can make.

help share your passion about letter writing

The unwritten “reality” of letter writing

You may wonder why I have chosen this title of this post. Well from my experience is that it is really hard to put the feeling into words about what letter writing means to me. Letter writing is becoming a lost art on many levels. It is fading into the background of society. It is still practised by many people. It is those people that I am looking to connect with. I have been told by many people whom have read my posts that they feel the same way about letter writing as I do. I want to hear from those people what they feel; I want to hear their words. I think that it is so important that we embrace the things that we are passionate about. In this case, I want people from all walks of life, all over the world. Put a pen to paper that is letter writing; pen pals, snail mail whatever it is you call it and tell your story about what writing and receiving actual physical mail in the mail box means to you. For me I love the whole process from finding kwel and interesting stationary, note cards, ticklopes (they are so cute) to stickers, to colour full envelopes to tuckins to put in the envelopes. For me it is to make others happy to see a letter to them in their box.

I want to hear from you yes you the one reading this post. I know you love to get a letter addressed to you? Who doesn’t? Is there some that you have kept? If so? Why? When? How? Yes I want all the 5 W’s answered. The reason is I think that it is important to have book that expresses just how important this art of letter writing is to our society. I have heard from a publisher that they are interested. Now I just have to create the masterpiece called the unwritten “reality” of the lost art of letterwriting.

Help me help shine the light on this amazing gift so that it doesn’t disappear from the future. If you want more info please feel free to contact me. I have more to share as always. If you can think of other places to post or spread the word please do. This is dedicated to you. I would appreciate any help in getting the word out. I don’t think that I could do this book justice with out having fellow letter writers sharing their experiences about the passion of this amazing hobby.

More Importance

Posted in Home Improvement Management, Lifestyle Center, Tips + Tricks on August 27th, 2008

When it comes to working, you need to think about your priorities. Is it more important to you to make more money, or is it more important for you to spend more time with your family? The answer to that question can depend on a lot of stuff. Hopefully your family is more important to you. If so, it is possible for you to find a very successful home base business opportunity. You can stay home and make money for your family’s survival. You do not necessarily have to go to an office, in your business suit, in order to be successful.

When I was young, my parents were never home. I had to spend all of my time outside of school with a babysitter. Because of this, my parents and I do not have the best relationship. I want my relationship with my children to be different. My husband may work away from home, but I want to find the perfect home base business opportunity. This would allow me to contribute to the family finances, and I would also get to be there for our children. I want them to grow up knowing that their growth is important to us, and that we love them.

You Can Do It!

Posted in Home Improvement Management on August 25th, 2008

One thing that stands in the way of success is your ability to believe in yourself. We’ve touched on this in the attitude sections, but there’s more to it than just having a positive attitude. You must believe in yourself.

“So how do I do THAT?” you might be asking me right about now. “I’m really not good at very much….So-and-so at my office doesn’t struggle with anything. That’s why s/he succeeds!” I’m sorrydid we begin a whine-fest here? Who’s bringing the cheese to go with the whine?

Everyone struggles with *something*, whether or not you know what that something is. If you struggle with your self-esteem, then you’re probably comparing yourself to other people and using a measuring stick that’s not even remotely accurate as you bash yourself and your own abilities.

The first thing you need to do is sit down with a piece of paper and start to write down the things at which you are genuinely good. I mean things like “I brush my teeth twice a day,” and “I’m organized.” For every skill or task that you OWN (and it doesn’t matter what it is), there is a way to put those abilities to good use and a way to make it your own personal success story.

Now that you’ve done that, think about things you *love* to do. Make another column on your paper and begin to list things you really enjoy and could do every day for the rest of your lifeand not dread going to work. Draw lines between things in your two columns that might go together.

On my paper, I’d write “I’m good at organizing things” in one column and “I like to write.” They don’t seem to go together, but what if I began writing about getting organized? What if I started an email list with tips on how to get organized and wrote notes to encourage my subscribers? And then what if I started to talk to companies who would custom-make things for my subscribers to help keep them organized and began seeing profit from all of this?

Would you call that “success”? I wouldand there’s a lady in North Carolina who’s done just that. Just ask any of the 250,000 “Flybabies” if the FLYlady is good for them! This woman has created a niche for herself and is success personified.

So are you beginning to see how some creative thinking and listing your skills and passions can come together for success? I hope you’re learning to think outside the box in this exercise, because that’s what it takes.

So the moral of this story is that you CAN do this. You CAN succeed at this and you DO have what it takes to be successful. Go work on your lists and remember to think outside the box! How can I Make My Breasts Bigger?

Posted in Home Improvement Management on August 25th, 2008

First, ask yourself “Why do I want bigger breast?” Is it for the boys, or because you feel out of place among other girls? Have your breast reached their full size?

Different girls will develop at different stages, while you may be behind now, you may catch up soon. Even if your breast stay small, it’s not the end of the world.. as a matter of fact, smaller breast have many wonderful qualities. Woman with large breast experience back problems, neck problems, and sagging as they age. Smaller breast allow for freedom of movement, and can be an advantage in any physical activity. The most important thing to remember, is that your breast are a beautiful part of you, and you should be proud of them, no mater what size they are.

If your concerns are that the boys won’t like you; that is only a myth. Breasts are breast; your attitude, personality, and confidence are what make the difference.

If other girls are developing quicker than you, don’t worry; every girl will go through her own growth stage, and you will probably catch up.
You can try a padded bra, but be careful. A padded bra can look funny under a t-shirt, and create bulges were no bulge should be. There may also be some health related risk; a padded bra does not always offer proper support, especially in a growing girl. If the bra is designed to ad a cup size, it can be very restricting, and can prohibit the growth of your breast, (Keep your breast from growing to their full size). Any bra that fits too tightly can do this over time.

Sorry, but their is no proven natural way to increase your size, no matter what some commercials say. And even though certain chemicals can have this effect, you should never mess up your body’s natural chemical process.
There are many methods that people claim will help increase your breast size; push-ups/bench press (does not increase breast size, but will make your chest look fuller), eating fatty foods (releases hormones, and adds fat, the stuff that breast are made of, but this will also add fat everywhere else).

If you can learn to love your breast just the way they are, and be confident with who you are; you will get more attention, and your beauty will show through, more than all the padding in the world could do.

Forgotten Point of Sale System Features - Cash In Drawer Limits

Posted in Home Improvement Management on August 18th, 2008

This feature has been around since I started in the cash register business some 25+ years ago. I haven’t heard POS salespeople talk about this for over a decade and if it isn’t being used in your business you are opening yourself up for theft and possibly armed robbery of your business.

All cash registers and point of sale systems track sales and tenders. They all know how much money, checks, gift cards, credit cards and other forms of payment are in each cash drawer/till.

Most cash registers and a few point of sale software companies have the ability to set a limit on how much cash should be in each cash drawer/till. When this limit is reached the cashier is notified and then can notify management to do a cash pull from the drawer. Some systems go as far as sending a message via pager/cell phone alerting management that a cash drawer/till is over the cash limit.

Management can then go to the drawer, pull out an amount of cash, count it and enter the amount removed as a cash pull. This amount is then removed from the cash in drawer amount and lowers the overall cashier responsibility.

Do not forget that every time the cash drawer/till is opened all the cash is exposed to view and to the temptation of everyone. Not only does the money become accessible to your cashier, it is also accessible to long-armed customers who have been known to reach across when the cashier was not looking.

What could be even worse is the fact that when the cash drawer/till is open potential robbers are able to estimate and determine if your operation is worth returning for a full-scale robbery.

Cashiers like this feature in that it reduces the amount of cash they are responsible for as the cash removed is deducted from their overall cash responsibility. Cashiers also like the fact that if there is less cash in the drawer they are less apt to have a gun shoved in their face during a robbery.

Owners like this feature in that it reduces the temptation to remove money from the cash drawer/till through employee theft or through robbery.

If you are an owner, wouldn’t you like keeping more of the money in your cash drawer/till for yourself? Wouldn’t you like to reduce the chance/temptation of an armed robbery? This old-time cash register feature now found in some point of sale systems could be the exact answer to your needs.

Check your current point of sale system to see if the cash in drawer feature is even offered. If you are looking at a new point of sale system you should make sure that the cash in drawer feature is offered.

Don’t let technology dazzle you to the point that you forget about the basics features that you need to stop theft and increase profits. Those features that have been around for decades are still valid today.

Cash in drawer limits were considered an important part of any cash register and point of sale system for many years. The reason for the feature and the need to keep your cash safe never went away. Stopping theft is still a critical aspect of any point of sale system. That being the case, why should you settle for anything less than your business needs? Don’t settle for less. Demand the cash in drawer feature.

Jerry D. Wilson has over 25 years of point of sale experience helping business owners stop employee theft and increase profits. Please visit DirecTouch POS and DirectRetail POS for more information on other features that are important to your point of sale needs.

Destination Snow: Kitzbuehel Austria

Posted in Home Improvement Management on August 16th, 2008

Scenic Kitzbhel is everything an alpine resort should be: a charming village with a medieval center, a world-famous aprs-ski mecca, and a ski run regularly used on the World Cup circuit. Whether you go to Kitzbhel to ski the Hahnenkamm or to party all night (or both), Kitzbhel doesn’t disappoint.

The village is situated at the southern foot of the Kitzbheler Horn, about 100 kilometers (63 miles) from Innsbruck. The area around Kitzbhel has turned up archaeological evidence of human habitation as far back as the Bronze Age. During the time of the Roman Empire, it became a major crossroads for merchants and travelers. The first records of the village of Kitzbhel date back to 1271. The area didn’t become a tourist destination until 1902, when construction started on a major hotel. Franz Reisch organized the Association of Winter Sports and staged Kitzbhel’s first public ski race.

That’s the old news in Kitzbhel. Here’s what’s new: improvements in lifts and snowmaking facilities for the 2005/2006 season. Old T-bars are being replaced with a state-of-the-art chair lift equipped with child safety devices. Also new this season is the “Panoramabahn Kitzbheler Alpen,” an eight-seat mono-cable circulating gondola. The resort is also increasing its snowmaking system. Work is underway on a new water reservoir. Man-made snow will cover the ice increasing the amount of terrain by 30 hectares and improving the condition of the snow at the Resterhhe ski area.

Now, back to the basics - Kitzbhel offers over 145 kilometers (90 miles) of trails with 39 percent designated for beginners, 46 percent for intermediates, and 15 percent for advanced skiers. There are four main mountains: the Hahnenkamm, theKitzbheler Horn, the Bichlalm, and Pass Thurn. While it is a great resort for intermediates, experts are not left out. They can test their skills on the famous World Cup Streif run (on Hahenkamm) and there is plenty of off-trail terrain to explore. Skiers can even have their speed clocked with radar on the Pengelstein. There are also steep trails around the Ehrenbachgraben bowl and also on the Rettenstein at Pass Thurn.

Kitzbhel is home to the popular Ski Safari circuit, marked by elephant symbols. The circuit allows skiers to explore the entire area between Hahnenkamm and Pass Thurn. A recently installed 3S (tri-cable) continuous loop cableway allows skiers to complete the circuit in both directions without taking off their skis. The Ski Safari covers 35 kilometers (22 miles) of runs.

Snowboarders are most likely to head for the Kitzbheler Horn. In addition to free-riding terrain, there’s a half-pipe and funpark. There’s a boarder-cross near the Brunellenfeld lift with a 95-meter (312-foot) vertical drop and at least 14 obstacles. The Red Eagle Snowboard Academy in Kitzbhel is a great place to learn and perfect snowboarding skills.

The Kitzbhel area is a good choice for cross-country skiers. Kitzbhel offers 30 kilometers (19 miles) of groomed trails. With the trails of the surrounding towns added on, there is a total of 120 kilometers (75 miles) of groomed trails to explore. Snow hikers and snowshoers find over 100 kilometers (62 miles) of well-maintained hiking trails. Free guided hikes are available during the week as well as special torchlight and photography hikes.

Visitors enjoy other winter activities, as well. Tobogganing, indoor and outdoor ice skating, tubing, and sledding add to the fun. Riding in a horse-drawn sleigh is a romantic way to see the spectacular scenery surrounding Kitzbhel. There are a lot of things to see and do in Kitzbhel. In addition to shopping, visitors can tour several medieval churches. There are spas, the Cable Car Museum, a casino, art galleries, and an alpine zoo.

The village is filled with brightly painted houses, many dating back to medieval times. Visitors can browse through trendy shops and stop for coffee and pastry at one of the many caf©s. The only hard part about dining out is deciding where to go. There are more than 100 restaurants in Kitzbhel. Food choices range from Tyrolean, Mexican, and Chinese to Italian, Swiss, and even American. Many great restaurants are found in the town’s four-star hotels.

Some people choose Kitzbhel just for its party atmosphere. Famous for its wild aprs-ski, the town draws the rich and famous from around the world. Bars and discos keep the fun alive all night. There are, however, quiet pubs for those looking for a more romantic evening.

Kitzbhel is preparing for its opening celebration, with special events planned for December 8 - 11, 2005. Whether you come to ski and snowboard, party or shop, Kitzbhel is the ultimate fun alpine resort.

What if There Were No Water Shortages in the World?

Posted in Home Improvement Management on August 14th, 2008

What if there was enough fresh water in the world for eight billion people? What if we did not have to worry about water shortages? What if drought cycles did not hit areas so hard causing devastation to crops and regions where water supplies were already tight? What if we had more running surface fresh water? What if we could desalinate water cheaper and build the infrastructures quickly? What if people would limit their procreation innate tendencies and only have one or two children? What on God’s green Earth are we going to do in 2050 when the population predictions are 60 Billion or so? Who is going to make sure everyone has water? How are we going to make sure we have water? Who is going to pay for all the dams needed, desalination plants and weather control research needed to prevent this potential eventuality and crisis?

Already we are at a crisis and it is only going to get worse as the demand on the current water supplies grows greater. Currently in Asia, Africa, China, Eastern Europe and Australia the crisis is almost to much to bare. Some 3 Billion people are in crisis of water supplies currently and even in the Western United States, Mid West and Southern States we are not even without worry. In fact we face severe issues too. Sure we can conserve, build infrastructures and re-shape the way we deliver water to our civilization, yet, we are certainly not without our own problems here at home. What if we could solve all these problems, should we spend the money to do it, before it gets any worse both here at home and abroad? Think on this.
