The Cancer of Sin. (Why do Christian Suffer?) We all at one time or another have seen many types of cancer, the cancer of the flesh and the cancer of the spirit. Cancer is a silent killer, resting in the body until one day it shows itself and by that time the body is already consumed, with no hope and no cure, death is inevitabile. Even thou God allows cancer of the flesh to exist, cancer of the spirit can be destroyed. What is cancer of the spirit? Sin. Why do Christian Suffer? Because we have chosen a path that the world rejects. Many hikers will choose a path to walk, sometimes its the easy way and sometimes its the hard climb. Christians suffer because the path that we’ve chosen is hard and trecherious.1Co 4:11-15 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;
And labor, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day. I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. “Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace” you say, “This isn’t me!” yes it is, if one Christian sufferers this day and age, we all suffer. “we are made as the filth of the world” strong language from the Apostle Paul, but true. Sin has overcome the world. And when the world looks for a person to blame for all its troubles they look at the Christian first. Government, Federal, State, Local, we have become a hated people because we stand up for the truth, we rock the boat and we call evil as it is. Many today that are caught up in their own little world are calling, Good - evil and evil - Good, because they are so miserable with their own lives they want everyone else to be just as miserable. “are buffeted”{Struck; beaten. l Cor.4.11. l Pet.2.20.}, “being persecuted{Harassed by troubles or punishments unjustly inflicted, particularly for religious opinions.}, we suffer it”- We sustain it; we do not revenge it; we abstain from resenting or resisting it. “Being defamed{ Slandered; dishonored or injured by evil reports.}, we intreat”,”being reviled{Reproached; treated with opprobrious or contemptuous language.}, we bless”,”We are the offscouring{That which is scoured off; hence, refuse; rejected matter; that which is vile or despised. Lam 3. 1 Cor 4.} of all things”.
Rom 8:17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. As the cancer of sin grows, those that have been warned to be cured are rebuilding Babylon, the bars, nightclubs, homosexual parades, the total Eco-system of non conformity toward Gods word. Instead of looking for the cure, mankind is trying to spread it to all around. Corruption is cancer, homosexuality is cancer, theft, prostitution, false doctrine, robbery, rape, lies, drunkenness, drug abuse, pride, child abuse, in deference, unbelief, all of these and more are symptoms of a cancer, eating away at the very fabric of mankind. 1. Mans rejection of Gods Word. Sin has caused man to overturn his basic love for God and has replaced it with, lies and deception. Asia, the United States, Africa, North, South, East and West are under the plagues of the Bible, the curse of disrespect and disobedience. Psa 46:2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Psa 46:3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. Jer 25:31-38, A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground. Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel. Who among you can stand against the Lord or His word and say that The Seas are calm, the Mountains Rest and the People are safe? Who will stand and say this? Who will stand against the Lord and say that His word is corrupt and disallowed of knowledge, who can stand and say we prophecy in someone else’s name? How many today are full of cancer and are yet aware of the fullness of the wrath coming upon them. Do we believe Gods word? Do we really? We ether believe or we don’t. I heard a story yesterday about a man who climbed a mountain by himself. He only took a rope and a few provisions. Almost at the top he stopped and looked back at what he had accomplished, having pride in himself. All at once he slipped and started to fall, being at night he could not see where he was and thought he was going to die. He screamed out for the Lord to save Him. All at once he reached the end of the rope, it tightened and stopped his fall. He cried again to God for help. The Lord then spoke and asked him,”Do you Trust in Me?” Yes the man replied. “Then cut the Rope.” But Lord I cant see where I am, its so dark and cold! “If you believe in Me, Cut the Rope!” I cant the man replied. The next morning a search party found the man, frozen to death, only 10 feet from the ground. Sin has overcome the world and man no longer believes God.
Sin has overcome the world and there is a noise of war in the air. Sin will no longer be tolerated, sin will no longer be a cancer to Gods creation. The end times that everyone is waiting for are here. Look at the signs of the times, look at the prophecy’s of God. Mat 16:3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? Luk 21:25-26 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Act 2:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke.

Alicante offers plenty of opportunities for sight seeing. Cathedrals and churches are popular sightseeing spots. The Concathedral of San Nicholas de Bari is a beautiful cathedral and home to the local Bishop. This cathedral is one of the landmarks of the city.

The Castle of Santa Barbara is one of the largest medieval fortresses in all of Europe. The original structure was built by the Moors in the ninth century and additions were made in the eleventh and thirteenth centuries. The castle overlooks the town and offers a breath taking view. The castle is rich in local history. Artifacts dating back to the Bronze Age have been discovered around the site of the castle. The castle is also home to modern art. A large collection of modern Spanish sculpture can be viewed during your visit to the castle.

There are several museums in the city for your enjoyment. The Nativity Museum is a unique place to visit. The museum contains hundreds of Nativity scenes from all around the world. Admission is free to this museum.

If you love the night life, visit the Barrio Santa Cruz. This is the old quarter of the city. The area has a medieval feeling. Bars and pubs are plentiful in this area, offering a variety of choices in the night life. Music from the clubs adds to the experience.

The Virginia Workers’ Compensation Law was adopted in 1918. The law provides compensation for lost wages and medical benefits. The common law right to sue the employer for the worker’s injuries was abolished. However, the employer lost the right to defend the accident on the basis of the worker’s contributory negligence or assumption of risk. Also, the worker did not have to prove the employer’s negligence caused his injury. As noted by the Virginia Supreme Court in Feitig v. Chalkey, 185 Va. 96 (1946), the principles of the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Law have been accepted by practically all of the States in the United States.

The principle restriction on recovery in a workers’ compensation case is that you cannot recover “pain and suffering” as you can in a personal injury case. The principle benefit may be a speedier but smaller recovery without resorting to costly litigation.

Of course, if the injury results from the actions of a third party, the worker can file a personal injury action against the third party provided the third party is not a co-employee. The usual example of this is if the worker is driving a company vehicle which is negligently struck by a driver of another vehicle. In this situation, the worker would have a workers compensation claim against his employer and a personal injury claim against the driver of the other vehicle. Also, if the injury was caused by defective equipment, then the worker could sue the manufacturer of the machine and workers compensation would not be a bar to this kind of product liability lawsuit.

In my workers’ compensation practice, potential clients often ask “Why can’t I sue my employer for my injury?” The only response I can make is that the State of Virginia in 1918 like the other States in the United States at about this time decided that industry and labor were better served if employers were required to provide workers’ compensation insurance as a cost of doing business rather than the worker having to rely on the uncertainty of personal injury lawsuits.

Turn on the TV and what do we see? Television ads promising you weight loss and fitness with no effort. Want to lose that extra fat around your belly? Just take these pills. Walk into the bookstore and browse through the rows and rows of books advocating one diet fad or the other. The problem is that most of them offer conflicting information. I’ll be straightforward in telling you that rather than separating the fat from your body, most of these people are more interested in separating your money from your wallet.

I’ve tried many of these diet and exercise fads and can tell you that most of them flat out do not work. Some of the diets will work, but will force your body to do things that it was designed to not do, therefore your body thinks it’s deathly ill and starts burning fat as an energy source. Losing fat is not a bad thing at all, but tricking your body into burning fat by responding with a survival mechanism is. What are the long term effects of these fad diets? Who really wants to live the type of restrictive lifestyle that these diets push on you? Who really wants to work hard and suffer for something that in 20 years from now will be the laughingstock of the fitness community? There has to be a better way…

The true path to fat loss is so simple, yet no diet book author would ever admit it. The secret is this:

Burn more calories than you eat.

That’s all. There’s really nothing more to it than that, and you probably already know this! There is no more effective way, no special fruit from the amazon, no machine that you can use that will give you better results.

Unfortunately there are plenty of people who would like to pull the wool over your eyes about what to eat, how to starve yourself, what machine to use to get the perfect body. Next time you reach for the next diet fad book, brochure on an ab exerciser, or pick up the phone to dial a number you got off of an infomercial, think about this - they didn’t work in the past, and they won’t work again because you’re still not burning more calories than you’re taking in.

After scouring the internet, bookstores, and trying just about any diet I could find to lose that extra 30 pounds I’ll tell you what’s worked for me:

Keep a food journal, tracking all of the calories that you take in. Be detailed. You’ll be surprised at how much stuff you can cut out if you just write it down. Personally, I was disgusted at the amount of sugars and junk foods I was ingesting on a daily basis. I didn’t eliminate them, only cut back a little.

Find out how many calories you burn in a day. You burn most of your calories just by existing. This is called basal metabolism. Find a chart to see how many calories are burned for certain activities for your weight class.

Exercise regularly. It doesn’t take much, only around 20 minutes a day 3-5 days a week. Regular exercise will increase your metabolism and cause your body to burn even more calories even while you’re not active.

Being fit is a lifestyle. It doesn’t have to be severely limiting and it doesn’t even have to be painful. Being fit is always easier in the long run than putting yourself through the ringer with limiting or starvation diets.

My search for the perfect diet and exercise program took me 8 years and ironically the one thing that worked for me was the easiest and least expensive thing out of all of the others I tried.
